Every gardener has those favorite varieties that they love to grow year after year. Still, as the saying goes, variety is the spice of life, so why not introduce your favorite gardener to some (or all!) of the 13 new varieties Seed Savers Exchange is thrilled to offer for the 2026 gardening season?
Our six new “From the Collection” varieties include new crop cultivars, such as celtuce, a beautiful pink poppy, a very special heirloom tomato, and more! We hope you are as excited to try them as we are to offer them!
We have also added seven other new varieties to our selection of more than 600 open-pollinated, non-GMO seeds. Pepper enthusiasts will enjoy the ‘Hungarian Yellow Wax’ peppers, which come in both sweet and hot to suit all palates. The ‘Howden Pumpkin’ is a perfect squash to add to your pumpkin patch for carving jack-o’-lanterns. The ‘Early Purple Sprouting’ broccoli is both beautiful and delicious, with buttery-soft and nutty-flavored spring shoots.

Know someone whose hands are happiest in the dirt? If so, it’s a good bet they will love a handy tool or two. With decades of experience growing heirloom varieties, Seed Savers Exchange has a pretty good idea which tools perform best, and these tried-and-true ones—from cultivators and hoes to trowels and weeders—won’t disappoint.

The Gift of Membership
A membership to Seed Savers Exchange is a gift that truly keeps giving throughout the year. Memberships include a range of benefits—including discounts, the Heritage Farm Companion magazine, free or reduced admission to public gardens, member-exclusive seeds, and regular virtual meetups with fellow gardening enthusiasts.
All gift memberships purchased by December 16 will be mailed on December 18 and arrive just in time for the holidays! Note: All gift memberships purchased after December 16 will be mailed in January 2026.
